We know that these remain challenging times and that you will want to understand why we are increasing your rent.
Last year we had to reduce our staffing and make other cuts to protect the services that you tell us matter most, such as repairs, tackling anti-social behaviour and providing money advice and support. We also invested £2 million in upgrading the energy efficiency of 29 of the lowest energy band homes that our customers live in.
Meanwhile, we continue to see a record level of demand for repairs with around 18,000 requests this year. We will spend more than £9 million on repairs this year, an increase of 20% on the year before.
This means that we face another very challenging year financially and we will again focus our limited resources on providing reliable landlord services that you have told us are important.
We have sent you a letter which explains your rent increase for 2024 and a booklet including resources and FAQs to help you if you are facing financial difficulties.
