Temporary freeze on new Direct Debit payments from 5 September to 23 September

Between 5 September and 23 September, you will not be able to set up a new Direct Debit (DD) or amend an existing Direct Debit with Rooftop as we migrate our DD processing to PayPoint.

What does this mean for you?

  • No new direct debits: During this period, you won’t be able to set up any new DD payments. If you’re planning to start a new DD payment, please wait until 23 September.
  • No amendments: If you need to make any changes to your existing DD details, these changes cannot be made until after 23 September.
  • Cancelling a DD: While you won’t be able to set up or amend a DD during this time, you can cancel a DD. However, to do so, you’ll need to contact your bank directly.
  • Existing DD payment won't be affected.

Why is this happening?

We are migrating our DD processing to PayPoint. The move will make things better for you  as PayPoint accepts DD from a wider range of banks, including Monzo. You’ll also have more flexibility in managing your payments, including choosing payment frequency. For those customers who may have previously been unable to set up a DD because of who you bank with, will now have the opportunity to do so.

What will change for you?

Other than the extra options mentioned above, you will see no other changes.
