From 1 July 2026, Mears is now fully delivering repairs and maintenance services on behalf of Rooftop Housing Group.
Following a transition period over the past month, Mears has now taken over all repairs and maintenance services. This means all new repairs and any outstanding repairs will be completed by Mears operatives.
Customers will no longer see Platform Property Care (PPC) operatives carrying out repair work in their homes.
What services will Mears provide?
- Day-to-day repairs and maintenance
- Out-of-hours emergency works
- Disrepair works
- Damp, mould and condensation remediation works
- Void property inspections and works
- Major and planned works
- Structural repairs
- Disability adaptation works
- Servicing, safety checks and routine maintenance of installations
- Technical inspections; and
- Property health checks/MOTs.
Electrical and gas safety visits
While Mears is now responsible for repairs and maintenance services, some customers may still see Hewer technicians visiting their homes over the coming months.
Hewer will be carrying out Gas Safety checks and Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) inspections that are due in July, August and September 2026. These important safety checks help us ensure customers’ homes remain safe and meet legal requirements.
As always, the technicians attending your home will carry identification and an appointment letter and be happy to confirm who they are and why they are attending.
Working together
The move to Mears is an important step in helping Rooftop continue to provide safe homes and reliable landlord services. We will continue to work closely with Mears, other partners and our customers to ensure they receive the support they need.
